Phnom Penh is one of the most undeveloped capitals in Asia. I found the lack of high rise buildings, shopping malls, and Western restaurant chains refreshing! While Phnom Penh has few standard tourist sites, there are plenty of cafes, bars, and restaurants along the river. I spent happy hour at the Foreign Correspondent’s Club (FCC), a bar and restaurant in a French colonial building with wonderful views of the river. A Phnom Penh institution, the FCC is a great place to meet expats and other travelers.
