Columbia - Popayán - Juan Valdez Cafe

Nicknamed the White City, Popayán is a beautiful colonial town of white-washed buildings and grand churches encircled by rolling green hills. The city suffered severe damage from an earthquake in 1983, but its buildings have been restored to appear as they would have during during Spanish colonial times. Popayán has a cultured air about it and has been home to many notable artists, scientists, and Columbian presidents. I spent my time in Popayán walking around the historic center and drinking coffee at the Juan Valdez Café.
