Ecuador - Otavalo - Market

Otavalo is a short distance from Quito on the Pan-American Highway. The town is known for its enormous Saturday market, where indigenous people from surrounding communities sell textiles that they weave and sew themselves. Unfortunately I arrived on Sunday, and the vendors were selling souvenirs found everywhere in Ecuador instead of authentic handicrafts. While the market was disappointing, I enjoyed the natural surroundings and seeing the indigenous people wearing their traditional clothing.
