I’m Kelly Mackey and I live in Boise, Idaho, USA. I created this site in 2011 to blog about my travels. Someday when I have spare time I’ll blog about past trips back to 2001, the year I bought my first digital camera. (I enjoy travel photography more than writing, which explains the short posts on this site.)
I’ve wanted to travel the world since a young age. Every Christmas my grandparents renewed my membership in the National Geographic Society. The yellow, photo-laden magazines filled my bedroom bookshelves, and the classic World Political Map covered the wall above my bed. Today I hang the map in my home office--it has graced the walls of my homes for over 30 years.
“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”
-- Augustine of Hippo
The world is a BIG book that I’ll never finish. Still, I strive to keep turning the pages by traveling to places I haven’t been before. I’ve traveled to 47 countries of the ~200 countries in the world.
If you wish to contact me, then please send me an email. Thanks for visiting my site. I wish you safe and happy travels!
- My favorite travel quote is by Mark Twain: “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” ↩
