A mudslide caused by heavy rain delayed my arrival to Coca (Puerto Francisco de Orellana), the base for my expedition into the Amazon Jungle. Immediately after arriving in Coca I boarded a motorized canoe, which transported me down the Napo River to a jungle lodge in the small community of Limoncocha. I spent two days trekking in the hot, steamy Amazon with local guides. I learned about the flora and fauna, fished for piranhas, and ate Amazonian cuisine. However, the most memorable experience was playing in a soccer match with the locals and drinking with them at the bar afterwards.
